US HOTEL BUILDING BALCONY CONSTRUCTION
The Jacksonville Building Official determined that the balcony structure on the US Hotel Building was unsafe to occupy. Subsequently, the City of Jacksonville received a Certificate of Appropriateness application from Jackson County to replace the existing balcony structure. The design was reviewed and approved by the Jacksonville Historic and Architectural Review Commission, and the State Historic Preservation Office. It is covered with plastic for the safety of the public and workers. Construction is estimated to last approximately three months.
